The Awesome That Is Amanda Waller

RVCBard, this post is for you.

While Wonder Woman is the undisputed first lady of DC, when it comes to the ultimate HBIC and BAMF in the DC universe, that title goes to only one woman. Amanda Waller.

How fucking fierce is this woman, words cannot not describe. But let me put it into perspective for you, even Lex Luthor and Batman know better than to fuck with her.

Not convinced?

Here’s a snippet of how this certifiable badass gets down:

Still not convinced? Then check this glowing endorsement from the JUSTICE LEAGUE.

If you can’t get to a comic book store, then I strongly urge you to rent from Netflix Justice League Unlimited season one with the Cadmus storyline. Waller plays a featured role and you will see her in action. Voiced by CCH Pounder, she knocks the role out of the ballpark without even trying.

Last season on Smallville, Waller was portrayed by Pam Grier. That had to be the most epic casting choice ever. The baddest chick on the planet being portrayed by the other baddest chick on the planet. While her storyline wasn’t as beefed up as it could’ve been, it’s Pam Grier, she can do no wrong in my eyes.

You can also check out Waller who had an even more beefed up role in the Batman/Superman film: Public Enemies.

Last I heard Waller is supposed to be appearing in the forthcoming Green Lantern film and she’s going to be portrayed by Angela Bassett. I’m really of two minds about this. On the one hand, I”m a huge Bassett-hound and Angela is 10 kinds of awesome and I know she would the role justice and can hold it down. On the other hand, I’m not comfortable with a curvaceous and full-figured character being portrayed by a thin actress.

I don’t know. I suppose the casting could’ve been worse so I’m grateful for that.

In any event check out the Justice League Unlimited cartoon and the Batman/Superman : Public Enemies film to partake in the awesome that is Amanda Waller.

  1. Oh, and don’t forget that she was responsible for creating Batman’s successor Terry McGinnis (Batman Beyond) as well.

Unfortunately, it looks like Ms. Waller has been lightened recently.
