I’m curious to know how they were “partnering” with Chick-Fil-A before, and why they had received a payment from Chick-Fil-A if Lisa Henson is such a strong supporter of marriage equality. I mean, we’ve known for a long time that Chick-Fil-A has supported groups opposed to marriage equality, and that the founders’ conservative values are a major part of their corporate culture. I’m glad the Muppets are on board now. I wish they had recognized this problem earlier, though. It wasn’t a secret.
I’m willing to give Henson the benefit of the doubt because for me personally, I will say that the Chick FIl-A homophobia wasn’t well known and wasn’t as established. There had been mumblings for years but even for me, it wasn’t as well known as it is now.
There are many other companies that continue to support Chick Fil-A so that puts the Muppets ahead of them.
